Auditions

Well, my bro got his wristband this past weekend and he auditioned for the producers of the show American Idol today. He did well but not well enought to get passed on to the judges. Not to worry though, he says he is not giving up and I do not blame him. He is talented. I hope that he tries again soon as there is another audition opportunity in Tx or at least tries again next year! Go head little bro!

American Idol

American Idol, how we love to watch that show. Man but my favorite judge is not going to be there this year...too bad for him...anyway. My brother is auditioning for American Idol this year and I am going to be the one taking him out to the spot to register! Wow oh wow oh wow! Well, I hope he sings and does well because this is the opportunity for him to do so.

In any event, I happen to realize that there are certain people out there who have been told that they can sing and they actually cannot. Well, my brother being a mere 16 years of age is no stranger to competition. He has won national singing competitions so I am not worried that he will get out there and do his thing if given the chance. The boy is talented, he not only sings he plays the keyboard as well! He is self taught so that is motivation for you. I am proud of him for being such a go-getter and I pray that all goes well as we journey out here soon for this registration.

If he makes it I will be making my celebratory blog of course letting everyone know that my lil bro will be on American Idol! I will keep you all posted.

Starry Sleep

I would sleep when the stars winked at me
And I would wink back
I would sleep when the stars formed a cradle for me
rocking me in the night sky
I would sleep when the stars sing to me
their secret lullaby.

Exercise

In order to get the creative juices flowing plus lose a few pounds I have started learning Zumba! This fun new exercise is based on latin dance and in the first DVD the instructors break down all the steps so even if you do not dance, have never danced or just plain do not have any rhythm at all, you can do this trust me! LOL. Exercise is a great motivator, I am a firm believer that if you do nothing all day long, your mind will idle and you will start forgetting things so I have to exercise in order to stay alert and basically now because I am a Mom just to keep up with my Olympic Crawler. I tell you my son should have a gold medal in crawling! He is so fast! I know some people may tell themselves you know I wish I could exercise and wonder how they can find the time to stay fit, well you know I used to be one of those people! Being a new Mom, I decided that motherhood was not going to take over my body so I put the baby in his walker and he watches Mommie exercise. He loves the music and so he dances in his walker while I salsa step, and cumbia! It is fun to watch him having fun watching me! Funny right? I think my baby may be a good dancer one day!

Watching my child, I find myself becoming more creative than I have ever been since I was 15 and first started writing poetry. I have written him cute little songs and everything. I guess there are alot of Moms who do that sing homemade songs to their babies. My baby laughs at me when I use a silly voice to sing to him but he listens to me so that is sweet.

Having him there in the room when I am working out is fun because it feels like we are doing something together and he gets to have fun because he sees me having fun and he is listening and dancing to music. Creating a positive energy for my child is important to me and I believe that this is something that adds to that positive energy

Hi, my name is Angel and I am a published author of one book so far. I have written a poetry book and it is entitled Faith I Keep. It is available at http://www.publishamerica.net/product25442.html . It is a wonderful collection of poetry that I have written over a period of 15 years. I started writing poetry when I was fifteen years old and it started out as a gift for my mother for Mother's Day. My Mom liked my poems so much she started asking for a poem for birthdays and basically kicked started me off with writing poetry and improving upon my writing skills. I used to love to write songs but they always started out as poetry so I added those to my book as well. I used my life experiences in my poems and how life has affected me good and bad. Plus I used experiences from others as well and some dreams that I have had. It is the poet in me that inspired me to love and use my deep connection to the Lord Jesus Christ that motivates me to want to write and just writing in general.

I have never blogged before, but it would seem that there are people out there just like me who are interested in what I have to say so I decided why not, lets start a blog and get my thoughts out there. That is what it is all about, getting your thoughts out there and connecting with people and gaining insight into others views. I hope that by adding my thoughts into the mix, I am a benefit to others by inspiring them to do the same, add your thoughts and be an inspiration
